*** and the team were helpful and kind during the booking process and the sailing experience. *** was comfortable and well equipped. I highly recommend Portland Roads for their personal customer service and attention to detail. *** was a fantastic skipper, he made our trip fun and safe and comfortable. We got to customise our trip and *** quickly worked out what was important to us and developed a schedule that was perfect. He was an excellent trainer in sailing skills but not such a good card player.

Thank you to *** and the Portland Road’s team. Our group of six had the best 7 days of sailing around the Whitsundays thanks to the excellent instructions from ***, who not only made sure we were fully competent with our sailing skills and the operation of the boat in general but also his helpful advice when we called in on weather conditions, suggestions of protective moorings as well as the best spots for snorkeling. The catamaran was very well equipped, everything you could possibly need, well maintained and a pleasure to sail. This is a must to add to everyone’s bucket list. We will definitely be back.

The idea of a bucket list is to grab the once off things to do, do them; and then move on to the next item on your list. *** was an amazing skipper. His friendly and easy going manner meant he fitted into our group like he'd known us for years. We had the best time and he even let us beat him at cards! A once in a lifetime adventure and the boat was great. Best wishes for the continued success of your business and thanks a tonne ***.

The Portland Roads Catamaran was wonderfully decked out. With good size rooms and plenty of entertaining areas. The 6 of us enjoyed our 5 days cruising the Whitsundays immensely.
The briefing we received from *** before sailing was thorough.
The only problem we had in one room the blankets (which *** said were new) had bed bugs! We were eaten alive the 1st night & were very itchy. Suggest washing blankets and fumigating the storage area.
We would recommend the experience however.

We pride ourselves on meeting our customers' expectations and it is from your feedback that we continue to grow and improve our offering.
We are glad that despite the first night itches that you all still had a wonderful time sailing the Whitsundays.

And YES - The winter blankets were brand new, along with new mattress protectors, new pillow protectors and laundered sheets and pillow slips.
The issue 'appears to have been midges'?
They tend to come after our first winter rain and many locals were also affected. On our boats then tend to only affect guests sleeping on the same side of the vessel as the primary holding tanks and only when a vessel is anchored or moored close to shore. And whilst we recommend 'Bushmen Insect repellent' in all of our charter notes, this is never evident by day as the little critters only swarm at dusk and into the night.
Once out to the islands, they tend to not give our guests as much grief, which may explain why they only had a taste for you on the first night?
Regardless, we have taken your advice and to be on the safe side we have re-fumigated the storage area and each of our cabins. Whilst this is done at the turn of each season, we activated the service immediately after your charter (on all boats).
As an extra safety we have now added the engine bays and other storage areas to the process. Fiona your feedback has us also discussing the installation of wire screens to each cabin. Past feedback from past guests (who love jumping out of their hatches and port holes straight into the ocean for a quick dip) may make this option pointless. Thanks again for your valuable feedback and we'll see you back on the water again soon.

A holiday we will never forget! We can't thank *** enough for the outstanding service, relaxed, friendly and professional. We sailed out of the marina with complete confidence after the induction and training and felt comfortable knowing we would be hearing from *** twice a day to check in with us to make sure everything was going well. Wish we were still on the yacht now! ***
