I took my entire team on a 4 day/3 night charter and we had an AMAZING experience with the crew from Portland Roads. The entire process was seamless - from the initial communication/planning to the sailing itself. We felt like everything just perfectly feel into place and it was exactly what we hoped it would be. Josh (our skipper) was an vibrant and fun guy who we got along with really well - so it felt like we were just hanging out with a friend that was super good at sailing! We 110% recommend Portland Roads. Everything was amazing and cannot thank them enough.

The experience Portland Roads offers is unlike anything else you'll find in the Whitsundays. Not only are the boats beautiful and the experiences unforgettable but I loved the genuine the social and environment awareness they displayed - having a strong focus on protecting the environment and Indigenous culture. Josh, our Master Reef Guide, also made the experience ten times more special. He had endless knowledge about the reef and brought lots of fun and positivity to the trip!If you are considering sailing in The Whitsundays I would absolutely recommend going with Portland Roads.

Wow - what a great experience!! This was not our first time on a Portland Roads boat and the team have never let us down. The boat was immaculate and well presented, Mike and John stepped us through all the things we need to do to enjoy the time aboard (including tips on “secret” spots to enjoy). Fantastic, Great, Awesome….We sailed for 5 nights around the Whitsunday Islands on the lovely Portland Roads 42 sailing catamaran, our home on the water. It was relaxing and the most amazing experience ever. We took the stay on board option the night before which made for an organised start to our incredible holiday. From our very first enquiry to ‘Portland Roads Sailing the Whitsundays’ to the very end of our adventure John and Mike were very helpful and accommodated our every need. Mike provided us with a comprehensive first day boat briefing which gave us the confidence to handle such a fantastic boat. Mike and his extensive local knowledge provided us with our daily schedules and advise on the sights and locations to see to get the best out of our time on the water. We had an enormous amount of enjoyment, learnt a lot about sailing while experiencing the beauty of the surrounding Whitsunday Islands. Can not recommend highly enough. We sailed “Lucy” in July this year. 4 adults and 5 lucky little kids. We were very comfortable and have created memories we will never forget. John is wonderful, took extra time to ensure all of our questions were answered and we got the most out of our adventure. The knowledge that Portland Roads prioritise the environment and indigenous people of the Whitsundays makes the experience all the more special. Deano, the expert briefing and fishing advice and tips meant we were able to enjoy our trip without incident (also without any fish to speak of) but we would def consider paying you to take us to land a fish next time. Amazing Man to take a motley bunch with little to no sailing experience and turn them into a competent crew who can handle a boat on their own. We thank you. If you are considering a trip in the Whitsundays you simply cannot beat a boat trip with Portland Roads. The weather is stunning, the snorkelling is even better and the boat will take your breath away.
