We have (sadly!) just returned back to normality after the adventure of a lifetime on the Whitsunday Freedom with Portland Roads.John and Brad were the dream team and the contact prior to our travel, during and even post trip were amazing! Whilst the Whitsundays as a location, and the boat were absolutely phenomenal, it really was the customer service and assistance that made this trip unforgettable.Brad went over and above to ensure we had the most magical and jam packed week and the training on day 1 left us feeling very comfortable and confident to take on the Whitsundays.The boat itself seemed to rival any other boat we passed and the amenities were perfect for two families. The boat has all of the appliances you can think of including a NutriBullet and a coffee machine. Having a water maker was a game changer along with the ice machine. The boat was very luxurious with many sitting areas to enjoy unforgettable sunsets.If you are thinking about booking the holiday of a lifetime, you only want to book with Portland Roads. We are already planning our next trip with the dream team in 2023!

We absolutely loved our experience on the Catamaran Due West! It was such a different and unique experience and a whole lot of fun. We had a lot of Northerly winds but that didn’t matter, there was still so many beautiful places to see and so many things to do. The Portland Roads staff were very good and Gee was there every day to give us the weather and offer some helpful advice which was reassuring. We had never sailed a boat before but it was easy enough to learn. We never used the sails but hopefully we can come back another time and try a different catamaran and use the sails! Just returned from five days aboard Whitsunday Freedom-what a great trip! Fantastic boat with plenty of space, very comfortable with air con, ice maker and best of all a desalinator so no worries about running out of water. We were lucky with the weather so got to some great locations with beautiful water, coral, fish, turtles and spectacular sunsets. Getting the sails up was easy on this boat and she zoomed along with wind alone in some parts- exhilarating!Brad our briefer was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, responsive and friendly, guiding us to the best mooring spots each night. Thanks to Brad and the team! We all had a wonderful bare boat sail trip and saw the best of this pristine ocean environment. Highly recommended!

Our first trip visiting the Whitsundays with Portland Roads in January was nothing short of amazing! The customer service and care from John and his team, from when we made the booking months ago until the end of the trip, has been first class to say the least.Mike did a fantastic job explaining everything about the boat to us, showing us the ropes and providing tips on good mooring/anchoring points.When we needed help in the middle of our trip, Mike and John were both highly responsive which helped us feel safe. When we had to cut our trip short due to unfortunate circumstances, John went above and beyond in helping us make the most of the remaining of our trip.It has been a privilege to get to know John and his team. Whenever John spoke of his team, his company or his family, his eyes sparkled with so much joy and pride. Anyone who spends time with John will be able to feel his passion for sailing, his love for the Whitsundays, his dedication to Portland Roads, and his respect for the Aboriginal history and mother nature.We will definitely return to the Whitsundays to sail with Portland Roads again!

Our experience with Portland Roads was nothing short of exceptional. Our time on Ruby Sunday was spectacular. John and Mike went absolutely above and beyond in all aspects. John is a very gracious host who takes absolute joy from sharing this very beautiful part of the world with his customers. John and his team work very hard to ensure all of your expectations are not only met but exceeded. Special shout out to Mike for his incredible generosity in ensuring we were well catered for and for getting us out there and back safely. What a wonderful company to deal with from beginning to end.

What a fantastic holiday!!! Thank you Portland Roads, sailing on Lucy to celebrate my dad’s 70th birthday was a wonderful experience which the 7 of us thoroughly enjoyed. There was plenty of room onboard, it was comfortable, very well equipped and we were able to explore such beautiful places! We will definitely be back.

Last week i hired a Catamaran from PORTLAND ROADS SAILING. Firstly it was only my wife and I (which we are in our young 50's) never sailed a boat in my life. After the 3hr training session supplied our confidence was all there and off we went. I was one of the best times we ever had, the training and daily contact with Portland Roads staff was so reassuring. The ease of sailing or just motoring one cant describe, very easy. totally recommend this company and yes we are already looking into booking again. The Whitsunday islands and waters is so beautiful it is a must do.

What can I say . From the first phone call to John , until we stepped of , amazing .Once in a lifetime experience . We had a blast . Sailing around the Whitsundays is simply amazing . Must do .Highly recommended to anyone that want to experience something so special that it will remain with you for ever .Thanks to all and can’t wait until we come back again.Missing it alreadyLou and Fam
